We spent a week and 412 miles with a 2025 Toyota Camry XSE AWD Hybrid to evaluate its Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite in varied conditions—urban gridlock, interstate cruising, night driving, and heavy rain—plus low-speed AEB trials on a closed lot.
Overall, Toyota’s TSS 3.0 in the 2025 Camry favors caution and consistency over flash—and that’s a strength. It reduces workload in traffic, centers reliably on good markings, and meaningfully mitigates low-speed crash scenarios. Limitations are typical for camera-radar systems: degraded lane centering on poor lines, conservative gaps, and hands-on vigilance. Spend for the Driver Assist Package (rear auto-brake and 360° camera) if you parallel park or frequent busy lots, and keep sensors clean.
If you want hands-off capability, look elsewhere; if you want trustworthy assistance that fades gracefully at the edge cases, this Camry delivers.
