Realizamos una prueba A/B comparando neumáticos ecológicos de baja resistencia al rodamiento con neumáticos de verano de alto rendimiento en el mismo hatchback compacto para ver cuánto afectan las distancias de frenado y el ruido en el interior en condiciones reales. Mismo tamaño, misma presión, mismo día—solo cambió la mezcla de goma y la filosofía del dibujo. Aquí están los resultados (y lo que nuestros oídos perciben).

Prueba del coche: compacto hatch 2024 (tracción delantera, 1,385 kg, rotores frontales de 30.5 cm, ABS/ESC). Neumáticos: 225/45R17 eco de temporada (OE de baja resistencia a la rodadura) frente a 225/45R17 de verano de alto rendimiento, montados en llantas idénticas de 17x7.5 pulgadas. Ambos juegos eran nuevos, usados durante 320 km. Presiones en frío ajustadas a 2.5 bar por todas partes, verificadas en caliente entre pruebas.

Condiciones y metodología: temperatura ambiente de 23–25°C, superficie de asfalto seco y una capa húmeda con ~1 mm de agua. Instrumentación a través de VBOX para distancia/velocidad y un medidor de Clase 1 para sonido (ponderado A). Frenado: múltiples paradas de 0 a 96 km/h, alternando juegos, descartando valores atípicos; los resultados son promedios. Ruido: lecturas de estado constante en la cabina a 112 km/h sobre asfalto liso y concreto rugoso, con el HVAC apagado, en crucero.

Frenado en seco: los neumáticos eco promediaron 38.4 m (±0.9), mientras que el set de rendimiento detuvo el coche en 34.1 m (±0.6)—una mejora del 11%. El neumático de rendimiento ofreció un mordiente inicial más fuerte y mantuvo una desaceleración más alta antes de que se activara el ABS, con menos movimiento en la parte delantera al pisar a fondo. El set eco se sintió más blando en la parte superior del pedal y necesitó una presión más prolongada para alcanzar el agarre máximo. El frenado en mojado mostró la mayor diferencia.

Desde 96 km/h a 0 sobre la película de 1 mm, los neumáticos eco promediaron 50.3 m (±1.5), frente a 42.1 m (±1.2) para el set de rendimiento—17% más corto. El neumático de rendimiento mantuvo un trazado más recto y permitió una aplicación de freno más profunda antes de la saturación del ABS; el neumático eco activó el ABS antes y se sintió más propenso a microhidroplaneo sobre las marcas pintadas. Ruido: a 112 km/h sobre asfalto liso, los neumáticos eco midieron 67.8 dBA frente a 69.1 dBA para el set de rendimiento (+1.3 dB). En concreto rugoso, la diferencia aumentó: 72.4 dBA (eco) frente a 74.6 dBA (rendimiento, +2.2 dB).

Subjetivamente, los neumáticos eco producen un silbido de alta frecuencia, mientras que el set de rendimiento añade un zumbido de baja frecuencia y más textura en superficies irregulares. El ruido de la dirección (golpes al pasar sobre juntas) fue ligeramente más alto en el set de rendimiento debido a sus flancos más rígidos. En resumen: espera aproximadamente un 10–12% menos de distancia de frenado en seco y un 15–20% menos en mojado al pasar de los neumáticos eco de temporada a los de alto rendimiento en condiciones cálidas, con un aumento de ruido en la cabina de 1–2 dB que crece en pavimento rugoso. Si priorizas el margen de seguridad en mojado y paradas de emergencia con confianza, el set de rendimiento es el claro ganador.

Para largos recorridos por carretera que priorizan el silencio y la eficiencia, el neumático eco OE sigue teniendo sentido—especialmente en climas más frescos donde los compuestos de verano no son adecuados.
