Después de seis meses usando un Honda Civic Type R 2024 como coche diario, hemos recorrido 8,000 km por autopistas, calles de la ciudad y un día en el circuito para evaluar no solo su rendimiento, sino también lo que realmente cuesta tenerlo durante tres años y 45,000 km.

El Civic Type R de generación FL5 combina un motor turboalimentado de 2.0 litros y cuatro cilindros (315 hp/235 kW, 420 Nm) con una transmisión manual de seis velocidades y un diferencial de deslizamiento limitado de serie. Nuestro coche de prueba en el Reino Unido montaba neumáticos Michelin Pilot Sport 4S de 265/30 ZR19 y frenos Brembo con pinzas delanteras de cuatro pistones. El peso en vacío ronda los 1,430 kg. Precio de lista en la prueba: alrededor de £47,000 OTR.

En el día a día, el modo Comfort mantiene los amortiguadores adaptativos lo suficientemente flexibles para los baches urbanos, aunque el ruido de los neumáticos se hace notar en el asfalto rugoso. Los asientos con refuerzo lateral ofrecen un soporte excelente sin resultar incómodos en viajes largos. La caja de cambios es uno de sus puntos fuertes: recorrido corto, marchas bien definidas y un sistema de coincidencia automática de revoluciones que se puede desactivar. La visibilidad trasera es adecuada a pesar al alerón, y el diseño hatchback permite cargar la compra semanal sin problemas.

El rendimiento es siempre accesible. En una mañana fresca de 12°C, con cronometraje VBOX, registramos 0–62 mph en 5.4 segundos con neumáticos estándar y sin control de lanzamiento. El eje delantero encuentra tracción de manera limpia; el LSD lleva la parte delantera hacia el vértice con un mínimo tirón en el volante. La sensación del pedal de freno es firme y predecible; de 100 a 0 km/h logramos paradas de menos de 35 m en repeticiones consecutivas sin desvanecimiento.

En pista, las temperaturas de aceite y refrigerante se mantuvieron estables, pero los neumáticos se sobrecalentaron después de 6–7 vueltas rápidas. El consumo de combustible depende en gran medida del estilo de conducción. Durante la prueba, promediamos 9.0 L/100 km (26 mpg US, 31 mpg UK) con gasolina premium de 97/99 RON. Al hacer trayectos a velocidad constante, el consumo bajó a 8.0 L/100 km; un recorrido rápido por carreteras secundarias lo elevó a 10.5; mientras que en el día de pista alcanzamos un pico de alrededor de 14.0.

Con 45,000 km, se puede esperar un consumo aproximado de 4,050 litros de combustible. A £1.55/litro para gasolina sin plomo, eso son aproximadamente £6,300 en combustible. Estimación del costo total de propiedad (Reino Unido, 3 años/45,000 km, suposiciones mencionadas anteriormente): la depreciación es el rubro más importante. La fuerte demanda hace que los valores sean resistentes; de un precio de lista de £47k, nuestras verificaciones de mercado sugieren entre £34k y £36k a los tres años con 45k km, lo que implica una depreciación de £11k a £13k.

El seguro suele ser del Grupo 40E; para un conductor de 35 años en un código postal suburbano con un historial limpio, se debe presupuestar entre £1,000 y £1,200 al año (£3,000 a £3,600 en tres años). El mantenimiento programado es anual: se esperan dos servicios menores y uno mayor, además del líquido de frenos, totalizando aproximadamente £1,000 a £1,200. Neumáticos: los 265/30 ZR19 PS4S duran entre 18,000 y 25,000 km por juego, dependiendo del uso; se deben planificar dos juegos completos a un costo de ~£900 a £1,000 cada uno, más alineación anual (~£100), sumando entre £2,000 y £2,200. Las pastillas delanteras pueden necesitar un cambio una vez cada 45,000 km con uso ligero en pista (~£300 a £400); los discos normalmente soportan este intervalo.

En resumen, un total realista para tres años se sitúa entre £24k y £26k, excluyendo impuestos/financiación: depreciación (£12k), seguro (~£3.3k), mantenimiento/consumibles (~£1.4k incluyendo pastillas, líquido, alineación), neumáticos (~£2.0k) y combustible (~£6.3k). Eso equivale a aproximadamente 53–58 peniques por km. Si planeas usarlo en pista con frecuencia, añade un margen para neumáticos y pastillas adicionales.

Para los conductores que valoran la precisión, la usabilidad diaria y la fortaleza residual, el Type R se defiende a pesar de sus costos operativos premium.
